Happy 2nd Blogiversary & Giveaway

Today marks the second “Blogiversary” of my culinary journey known as Mrs. Regueiro’s Plate. When I started this blog two years ago I really didn’t know what I was doing. I kinda joined the Internet trends of social media and dove in head first. I started blogging about cooking and renovating our house. I’m so embarrassed from my first entry, check it out here. (I probably have added a couple more to my list to the Omnivore’s Hundred). Fast forward to my first year blogiversary – I kinda forgot about it. Oopsie forgive me I still didn’t know what I was doing, but I still blogged about a fabulous meal.


Over the last two years this blog has given me enormous strength and creativity in the kitchen and the blogging world. I’ve never been so determined to make my food so darn pretty or master dishes that seemed impossible. I've revamped my basic food blog a million times over and most recently I've added some pages: About Me, Recipe Index, My Fave Blogs, Cooking Goals, and Cookbook resources that I love and adore. I'm always revising the blog when I have time because it's my unstoppable nature to continue to grow with this blog. Like my fear of yeast - it had haunted me for two years, and now with a couple recipe attempts and failures under my apron. I'm pretty confident with my bread making abilities but I still have lots to learn and bake with bread. Moreover, I have grown in experience from my culinary journey and nurtured my growing palate for food. Who knew that I would love chicken tikka masala or butternut squash risotto?

But I really wanted to say thank you for spending your valuable time here and listening to my rambling stories. Sharing my stories of married life with my hungry husband and cooking multitudes of recipes has greatly shaped my foodie life. We all need food in our lives and maybe I’m just talking in circles about food. It's just an unspoken feeling that I love cooking and eating food. Good food makes me delirious and happy and I really love sharing it with everyone.

In honor of my Second Blogiversary, I wanted to highlight two of my favorite posts from the past year:

Our 2nd year anniversary dinner of the delicious Boeuf Bourguignon. It truly has been one of my favorite meals from Julia Child and definitely one of the hardest labors of love in making this meal, too.

And a beautiful Vanilla Bean cheesecake with raspberry puree that I had made to celebrate Easter with our family. I absolutely loved this cheesecake, it was rich and decadent and oh-so pretty. Easter dinner was absolutely perfect with it. (It's funny but both recipes are from the same month. I guess I love April recipes!)

I have this crazy foodie syndrome called "FOTB" Food on the Brain because I'm constantly thinking of food, what new and old recipes to make, and reading and enjoying other food blogs. My food blog has become like a little baby that I absolutely love and I'm pretty proud mama about it. I look forward to blogging more recipes and blogging about another kitchen renovation project that we are currently working on. Eric and I are installing granite countertops and a beautiful subway backsplash this upcoming weekend and my kitchen is under construction. It's a stinking mess but it's going to turn out wonderful and be an awesome workspace for cooking some fabulous meals.
