Cognac Cherry Preserves

What would you do with 10 pounds of cherries?

Sounds like a cherry-extravaganza to the max if you ask me. Could you munch on them like there was no tomorrow and possibly have semi-permanent cherry stains on your clothes and hands? Or would you prepare something sweet or savory? I ask this because I was lucky enough to be presented the 10 pound cherry challenge hosted by OXO and the Northwest Cherries. They sent me and several other bloggers 10 pounds of cherries along with some OXO kitchen tools to use them in a recipe of our liking. Oh happy cherry day to me!

Easy Cherry Jam

I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence day weekend.

It's been a LONG while since I have last updated my food blog, maybe a month or so? Thank you if you are still here after the retirement of Google Reader. Hopefully you have found your new method of reading your favorite blogs if you currently use RSS, I'm using Feedly and so far it's great.

Most days it has been a struggle to get on my computer and have time a moment to myself. I have an almost 2 month year old newborn baby and a fourteen month old ball of energy that I'm juggling around all day long. I thought it would have been easy-peasy to get on the computer when the kiddos are napping, but who am I kidding. I have a million other errands to do, dinner prep, a house to clean, loads of laundry to wash/dry/fold and by the time I have downtime for the computer - Elena and Emilio are waking up from their naps. It's like the universe is telling me, you can't take a break mommy. It's actually a little after midnight right now as I'm typing this and I really wanted to share this easy no need for a recipe cherry jam.
